College Football Week 5 Picks

So after a 4-1 week and being 14-6 overall it is time to get into the week 5 grind. We are nearing the middle of the college football season and there is still much to find out about all the conference races much less the national title picture. So here is a look at the games in week 5.

LSU at Georgia- A Saturday afternoon SEC showdown in Athens that should not disapoint. Georgia has shown nothing but improvement from their opening loss to Oklahoma State. LSU is comming off a near disaster loss to Mississippi State but was able to hold on the goalline 3 straight plays. LSU has an offence capable of scoring early and often but Georgia is a little better than Mississippi State and the 12th man will be a factor. That said I think LSU leatned from a week ago and fights off a tough test in Athens.

LSU 38 Georgia 35

USC at California-What more of an opportunity can Cal ask for to dethrone USC from the Pac 10 driver seat. USC is weaker than normal, Cal has the best team that they have had in the past 5 years. Led by Best the running game can control the game and the Cal D can stop people this year. Look for a close one but I think Cal pulls it out at home.

USC 31 Cal 35

Oklahoma at Miami- Miami is comming off a beatdown in Blacksburg where they had 7 points and negative rushing yards. The good news for Miami the OU D is not as good the bad....OU's offense is better with or without Bradford. Miami has to get on track offensively but there at home and OU's inability to make a deffensive stop when they have to will cost em on the road.

Oklahoma 38 Miami 42

Auburn at Tennessee- I have the privelidge of whitnessing this game live at Neyland Stadium. Auburn is unbeaten but the toughest team they played is West Virginia and they haven't had a road game. Auburn has amended their offense woes from a year ago by having about 45 points a game in their first 4. Tennessee comes in at 2-2 but looking the best a Tennessee team has in about 3-5 years. Auburn is trying to prove to everyone that they are better than people give em credit for and a win on the road in the SEC will definatally help.

Auburn 31 Tennessee 24

Michigan at Michigan State- Michigan has finally discovered what playing a good brand of football looks like for the first time in the last 3 years. Rich Rodreguiez has Big Blue going in the right direction but Michigan State is not a pushover. They come in having tested Notre Dame on the road and now they have a shot to knock off Big 10 rival Michigan at home. However the Maize in Blue offence is going to confuse the heck out of a simple Michigan State defense.

Michigan 42 Michigan State 31
