Conference races are heating up and in several of the major BCS conferences we have huge ties at the top.......The fun part.........we get to see all of this play out in the next month or so. Miami who seemed in control of the Costal layed an egg at home against Clemson. Georgia Tech took care of buisness and Iowa continues to impress with their last second win on the road against Sparty. Iowa State upset Nebraska and have a shot at the Big 12 north title. Who would have thought after week 8 the Bog 12 North would look like this: Kansas State, Iowa State, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Missouri. Yeah don't think many saw that comming. The ACC Atlantic and Coastal are just as unsetteled. In the coastal right now there is a 4 way tie at the top between Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Duke, and Virginia.......right Duke and Virginia tied at the top? Yup both only have 1 ACC loss and it should be a mad dash to the finish. In the Atlantic There is a 3 way tie between Clemson, Boston College, and Wake Forest. The BCS committee has to be having 3 fits and a cow as Iowa and Cincy are unbeaten but so is Texas, Florida and Bama. Now how do you sort that out....hmmmm. Oh and don't forget Boise State and TCU who also have not lost. Here is a scenario the BCS would hate but what a playoff wanting fan should root for: Lets just say Bama is unbeaten until they play Auburn and loose but play against unbeaten Florida for the SEC title. Now if Bama beats Florida they both have 1 loss who plays for the national championship? Do you put Bama or Florida in over an unbeaten Iowa or Cincy? If so do you pick Bama or Florida? Bama had a worse loss but won the SEC while the Gators would have only lost to a top 5 team but lost the SEC. Yeah think the BCS is liking this.....NO WAY. Oh and Boise and TCU will probably still be unbeaten so do they deserve a shot? Or what about a one loss USC? There is food for thought and a BCS disaster.
