College Football Preview-Big 12

Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Robert Griffin. No this isn't the preseason Heisman list, its the returning list of Big 12 quarterbacks. This league is loaded with offense, from top to bottom, even Iowa State and Baylor can drop 30 points on some of the best teams in the nation. This year will be the ultimate test. Can any team survive the grind of the Big 12 schedule? And are those Big 12 offenses beat those SEC defenses. Well lets grade 'em and see how this shake up is going to play out.

Baylor C+: For a school that is known for more controversy off campus than football plays on it, they have started to emerge as a contender for the Big 12 title. Robert Griffin would have been the Big 12 MVP if it hadnt been for Bradford or Colt, this kid is the real deal. A qb who can run that fast and throw that well on the run hasnt been seen in the Big 12 since....dare we say it. Vince Young. This kid has all the size and tools to make Baylor a bowl eligible team this year. And he is just a sophomore.

Colorado C: The buffalo wont be marching over anyone this year. Though the crowds in Boulder will give them a couple sell outs this conference will not give the Buffalos a break. Their D aint strong enough and their offense is luck to put 20 points on the board. In the end, a bowl game may be too much to ask.

Iowa State C-: A new coach, new quarterback, new system. Its a fresh start for the cyclones. This offense is pretty good and could surprise some teams, but dont think its at the great level yet. This program could build on early success and start to turn this school around. All in all four wins is probably all you can expect and trust me they could upset a big name team this year.

Kansas B-: Reesing is back so is the genius of a coach. A solid Big 12 North victory could be in order if the Rawk Chalk Jayhawk can topple the Cornhuskers. A potent offense and an oppurtunistic defense could put Kansas into the title match this year.

Kansas State C+: No Josh Freeman. That is enough to cripple Kansas State where offense is everything. The Wildcats arent even built to beat their instate rivals, and may not be able to even beat Colorado. A bowl victory is possible but only if the Wildcats play above the bar.

Missouri C+: Give Mizzou some credit, they have managed to put a pretty good group of ball players this year. Its not a Big 12 title team but 7 wins could be the number that lands the Tigers in another bowl game.

Nebraska B: Bo Pelini has a very good ball club. Finally back to the Cornhusker teams of old. Pound the rock up the middle and go through the chin of any team who tries to do the same. A stifling D and alot of history should throw this team all the way to Kansas City.

Oklahoma A: Sam Bradford, and DeMarco Murray should prove to be even more dangerous. Ten wins or more should be expected and if the Sooners can beat Oklahoma State they could find themselves in another National Championship gaem. And maybe break that BCS losing streak.

Oklahoma State B+: Bryant, Robinson, its the croos town version of what Boomer Sooner is gonna be throwing on the field this year. Nine wins is to be expected and if they manage to beat the Sooners it is very unlikely many other teams could actually beat the Cowboys.

Texas B+: McCoy and Mack Brown are the Big 12 version of Tim Tebow and Urban Meyer. Two extraordinary football men, and even better people. Nine wins is a good number but Coach Brown will try and muster everything to get to ten.

Texas Tech B-: Mike Leach and his money wont be able to push the Red Raiders to where they were a year ago. Six wins is the majic number. Red Raider fans should be ready for a rebuilding year.

Texas A&M B-: McGee is back, the 12th man is still...well the 12th man. Kyle field could be the home of a couple big time upsets this year. Look for 7 to 8 wins for the Aggies this year.
