Vick is an Eagle

Well as he and Tony Dungy stated earlier this week Vick has a team by the end of the week. However did anyone see Philly? No not really including Philly, however I think it could be a great fit and a good way for Vick to ease his way back into the NFL. Is Vick in shape? Absoloutely the Eagles management and Dungy said he was in superb physicall shape but is he in football shape? Not yet, however that could change after the 2nd preseason game. Why? because he is an a offence that is run basically the way it was run when Vick was in Atlanta, another reason this is a good move. As far as fan reaction, I think it will be mixed, some will be thrilled to see him play again while others feel like he shouldn't be seen again. Here's my take: Vick made a mistake and has served his punishment for it in prison and home confinement. Not only that he has worked with the humane society and has spoken to kids around the country. Let us not forget THIS IS AMERICA. A land of second chances. He will and should get a second shot at becomeing a star in the NFL and be a sucessfull mentor to kids. Yes I said he can be a mentor to kids, why because everyone makes mistakes, yes some are bigger than others, but what a better example to teach kids the moral of forgiveness than through a football player. I believe he is remorsefull and that he will make an impact in a positive way not only to the Eagles but also the NFL. And lets not forget that this is a guy who tried to keep his brother out of trouble and a guy who did not have a father to lean on. Dungy will almost be like a dad to Vick, and Vick will be able to have that male figure he can consistantly go to. From a pure football perspective it is a really smart move. McNabb has had his issues in the past with both playing ability and injury. Now the Eagles know they have a QB that can win this games if something happens to Donavan. Is there a QB controversy NO, McNabb is the QB untill something like an injury comes up or play drops severly. McNabb and Vick are good friends and will pressure each other to get better in a good way both on and off the feild. Bottom line is this it is a win for Vick and the Eagles. Assuming everything goes well in Vick's preseason appearences Godell should reinstate him for week 1 PERIOD. He has served his time now if he and the coaching staff feel that he is ready LET HIM PLAY. I think the NFL will be glad to have him back and the averadge fan will love watching him making plays week in and week out. -Kyle
